About My Books

The title I Wonder was inspired by a photo of my son, which sparked a memory. I asked what he was thinking, and he simply replied, “Just wondering.” That gentle phrase stayed with me.  It perfectly captured the essence of childhood curiosity and became the heart of my storytelling.

Children experience the world with fresh eyes. Every outing, every new place is a sensory adventure: the signs, the sounds, the smells, all rich with meaning waiting to be discovered. As adults, we often forget how different the world feels from a child’s perspective. Concepts we take for granted, like the difference between A DUCK or TO DUCK. For children it can be magical, mysterious and sometimes overwhelming.

My stories explore those moments of wonder, the rapid shifts in thought and the language of discovery that unfolds when children encounter something new. It’s about seeing the world through their eyes and celebrating the beauty of that first-time feeling.

In my books none of the characters have names, so they could be anyone. Maybe they remind you of someone you know or remind you of someone you met along your way.  Why don't you choose a character and follow their journey around the park or make up your own story about them!

I Wonder at the Park

I Wonder at the Park is my debut book.  The local parks is where I spent a lot of time when my son's were growing up.  We would spend hours and hours on the park with our friends and family, from playing on the swings, the old tree trunk (which at times was a castle or ship wreck or obstacle course), learning to ride their bikes, walking our dog and of course  visiting the duck pond!

I Wonder at the Seaside

I Wonder at the Seaside is combined memories and wonders set around days out to the seaside.  The seaside is one of my favorite places to visit, a place where fun memories have been made, where you look at to the horizon and wonder... wonder what is beyond... wonder what is beneath... and wonder where the sun goes at the end of the day.

I Wonder at the Farm

I Wonder at the Farm is based on trips out to small local farms and days out to the bigger adventure and themed farms.  My son's loved learning about the animals, feeding the lambs, goats and horses.  Then playing on the mini tractors, haybales and trailer rides.

I'm currently writing 'I Wonder in the City' and further ideas for Christmas and Halloween books too!!

My books blend engaging rhymes, sensory exploration and thought-provoking questions which is perfect for families, classrooms and school visits.
